Kansas Action for Children influences public policy that provides Kansas children with the opportunities they need to achieve their fullest potential:
- A healthy start. Children who are healthy when they start school have a greater capacity to learn, to focus their attention and to interact with their peers. Allowing all Kansas children access to quality health care and on-time immunizations will lead to fewer chronic illnesses, fewer school absences and a healthier community for all of us.
- A quality early learning environment. The ability to form relationships, as well as life-long learning skills, depends on appropriate brain stimulation during the critical first five years of a child's life. Providing all Kansas children with access to early childhood education programs and safe learning environments will prepare them for success in school and in life.
- An opportunity for economic success. Kansas families must have the opportunity to meet their children's most basic needs. Ensuring this opportunity for all Kansas children requires that essential supports for families are a priority in the state budget process and that state finances are managed in a fiscally sound manner.
