Mission & History

Our Mission Kansas Action for Children is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to shaping health, education and economic policy that improves the lives of Kansas children and their families.

Our Vision The vision of Kansas Action for Children is to make Kansas the best state in the nation to raise a child.

History of KAC Realizing that Kansas children deserve an independent voice to stand up for their needs, KAC was established in 1979 by the three Junior Leagues in Kansas and Kansas Children’s Service League.

Today, through support from individuals and private foundations, KAC works to educate and influence decision-makers on the health, education and economic issues that affect the nearly 700,000 children who call Kansas home.

Kansas Action for Children is incorporated as a private, not-for-profit organization, and is a member organization of Voice's for America's Children.
