Advocacy Toolkit
Advocacy Toolkit

Kansas Action for Children is the state’s leading advocacy organization on issues that impact the health, education and economic success of Kansas children and their families. One of the ways individuals and organizations support KAC and its work is by joining in our advocacy efforts on specific issues.

What is advocacy?
Advocacy means taking action to influence decision-makers on proposed policy
solutions that will create positive change for individuals and communities. For KAC, those policy solutions are focused on improving the lives of Kansas children and their families.

Advocacy Toolkit
Anyone with a passion for – or knowledge of – a particular issue is well-qualified to advocate for change. KAC has published an advocacy toolkit that is designed to educate individuals on the legislative process and effective advocacy methods.

Except as otherwise noted, this advocacy toolkit has been adapted from “Making Your Case,” a 2001 publication produced by the Minnesota Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities.

To request a hardcopy of KAC’s Advocacy Toolkit, e-mail the KAC office or call (785) 232-0550.
