Kansas Action for Children releases new Kansas KIDS COUNT data
Kansas Action for Children today released its new Kansas KIDS COUNT data. Based upon 24 indicators, the data provides a comprehensive analysis of the education, health and economic status of Kansas children and their families.
In its 17th year, Kansas KIDS COUNT is a joint project of KAC and the Annie E. Casey Foundation. The goal of the annual project is to encourage policymakers, community leaders, service providers, parents and concerned citizens to utilize the statistics as a tool for shaping data-driven policy that will improve the lives of Kansas children and their families.
Headquartered in Topeka, KAC is a statewide nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to shaping public policy that puts children first.
Two key Kansas KIDS COUNT resources are available to the media: From the Web site, data may be viewed for one or more counties; compared with neighboring or similar counties; and measured against the statewide data. The CLIKS site also allows for the creation of custom graphs and charts for publication.
· Online CLIKS site - County-specific data for each of the state’s 105 counties is available online at www.kac.org/cliks.
· County Partners – KAC partners with community organizations in 14 counties to distribute county-specific data on the well-being of children. For a local contact person in these partnering communities, please see the enclosed list of county partners.
