One person can make a difference
by Dalton Porter, Clifton-Clyde Middle School
Being a child that is in a family that lives from paycheck to paycheck, I know that being able to afford to go to college will be a difficult task. I believe that if we made a plan for our country, then we could make it so that it wouldn’t be hard for families to pay for college.
As a family you could start to put money away in to a special account so that you could take it out later for college. As you keep on depositing money into that account you will be making it much easier to pay for college.
Most people don’t realize that one person can make a difference. You could write a letter to Congress giving them your ideas on this subject or anything that you feel should happen. Sometimes they might read your letter and decide to try to pass a law so that some money from taxes goes into helping people pay for college.
Going to college can change your life completely. It gives you a chance to get the career you want. It also gives you greater understanding of the kind of job that you want. This is one thing that I could do to change the country in the future.
