What Does PPN Provide?
PPN serves as a one-stop source of unbiased information for individuals and organizations that design, implement or legislate children’s programs. PPN offers:
- Objective, evidence-based information. Every program and practice considered for inclusion on the PPN website is examined by the RAND Corporation’s team of researchers and other scientific experts to ensure that the findings reflect credible methodology. High-profile programs are subject to the same thorough scrutiny as lesser-known initiatives.
- Comprehensiveness. PPN covers an extraordinary range of services, activities, approaches and policies in education, child health and safety, and family issues — all of which have been shown to achieve positive results for children from birth to age 18.
- Accessibility. Findings that would have once required a lengthy search to uncover, or that would have remained unknown to all but the readers of academic and research journals, are now easy to come by in user-friendly summaries through the PPN website.
- Impartiality. Data available through PPN is analyzed by the RAND Corporation. With RAND’s objective analysis and effective solutions, PPN is dedicated to providing credible and comprehensive information that can play a leading role in bringing children’s issues to the forefront. Utilizing data from PPN enables policymakers to ensure that investments being made for children’s well-being are based upon an informed, evidence-based analysis.
