“Two hours after Governor Brownback vetoed commonsense tax reform, the Kansas House put an end to the era of prioritizing the next election over the next generation. KAC applauds the courage and leadership of representatives who voted to end a tax plan that has failed the Kansas economy, its education system, and infrastructure, and endangered the well-being of Kansas’ youngest and most vulnerable citizens.

Every major indicator affirms that we need to set the state on a different path, and the House vote moves Kansas forward. We are just one vote away from putting Kansas back on a path of fiscal stability. Kansans overwhelmingly want comprehensive tax reform. We urge the Kansas Senate to join their colleagues in the House, stand up to Governor Brownback, stand strong for the people of Kansas, and vote to override the veto of House Bill 2178.”
