Corrections
Recent changes to our Kids Count process, including how certain indicators are calculated and which sources we use, have resulted in changes to various indicators throughout our Kids Count products. These changes mostly impact indicators that are derived using data from the U.S. Census Bureau and reflect our commitment to providing the most timely and accurate data in all of our publications.
This page will be updated as more products are republished.

2024 Kansas KIDS COUNT Data Book
- On page 15, in the "Poverty" indicator, the title of the pie chart was published as "Poverty Status of Kansas Kids." However, it should read as "Poverty Status of Kansas Families." This change has been updated in the online version of the Data Book.
- On page 17, in the "State and Family Household Median Income" indicator, the wrong source number was attributed to the "Kansas Family Median Income by Race/Ethnicity" visualization. In the published version, the source was attributed as "1" — the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey. The correct source is "2" — the U.S. Census Bureau's Public Use Microdata Sample. This change has been updated in the online version of the Data Book.
- We are working to update the 2024 Kansas KIDS COUNT Data Book. We will list here when the revised Data Book has been updated online.
