Kansas Action for Children was founded four decades ago under the leadership of the Junior League of Topeka, the Junior League of Wichita, the Junior League of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties, and the Kansas Children’s Service League.
These four organizations came together with a mission to establish an independent voice in the state for Kansas children. Since that time, KAC has grown to become one of the leading child advocacy organizations in the country. Through support from individuals and private foundations, KAC has worked alongside legislators and community leaders to achieve tremendous results on behalf of the around 700,000 kids who call Kansas home.
Kansas Action for Children’s mission is to shape health, education, and economic policy that will improve the lives of Kansas children and families.
Kansas kids need our help.
They need our help because young children can’t put food on the table by themselves. They can’t pay medical bills on their own. They can’t find an affordable place to live or quality child care. They depend on all of us – moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, and friends.
We can change the present to transform the future.
Kansas Action for Children works across the political spectrum to improve the lives of Kansas children through bipartisan advocacy, partnership, and information-sharing on key issues. We work with policymakers, local organizations, and fellow advocates to inform sound policy, foster collaboration, and promote an equitable tax system.
The job is big, and there’s no time to waste. Our kids need a state full of people--from Garden City to Overland Park--willing to step up and be champions for them by using our voices and our votes to make a difference.
Join us in building a state where every child gets the care, education, and resources they need to grow up healthy and thrive.
