Dustin Hare

Economic Security Policy Advisor

Dustin joined KAC in 2024 as the Economic Security Policy Advisor. In this role, he incorporates his knowledge about safety net programs to ensure Kansas families can make ends meet. Dustin has a deep understanding of the barriers faced by Kansas families due to his time as a community organizer, where he worked with unhoused folks and families struggling with food insecurity. He also spent years working as a policy analyst, during which time he developed relationships with fellow advocates and legislators across the state. 

Originally from small-town Hamilton, Kansas, Dustin now resides in Kansas City, Kansas, with his wife and their two cats. He holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Kansas. Dustin loves music and going to concerts. He also enjoys outside activities like running, hiking, disc golf, and gardening.
