Olivia Sourivong
Data and Policy Analyst
Olivia joined KAC as the Data and Policy Analyst in 2026. Olivia serves as the key data and policy person for the organization and analyzes data trends and research related to local, state, and national discussions on children and families. In her role, she is responsible for managing the KIDS COUNT project and using data analysis to inform policy solutions that help Kansas kids thrive. She brings expertise in qualitative and quantitative skills that she has completed in her academic studies and professional work. Olivia has worked on climate- and environmental-related service projects, conducted research on Lao refugees, and collected environmental data after tornadic activity. Through these experiences, she saw the importance of using data to inform public action and engagement.
Olivia has grown up in the Kansas City, Kansas, area for most of her life, and is excited to be back in the state to address data and policy issues related to children and families. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Kansas in 2024 and a master’s degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis in 2025. In her free time, you can find Olivia hiking, listening to an audiobook, planning her next travel destination, or playing with her family dogs, Phoenix and Appa.
